Abstract:
A proposal is made for a systematic investigation of the effects of doping liquid argon with xenon following preliminary evidence reported in the literature of a twofold increase in the light yield of the VUV scintillation (shifted from 128 nm to 174 nm). A proposal is made for a simplified Arapuca light trap exploiting the shift from 128 nm to 174 nm. This is a presentation made in November 2017 to the K25 committee.
