Abstract:
We look at the effects on the TPC Frame/Detector in the event of a large catastrophic leak during the pressure test.
Test Pressure = 5.83 psig = 0.402 mBarg (20.53 psia)
Leak Size = 5” diameter opening at the top of a chimney
Bulk forces are low, however, the event is extremely loud and could cause forced vibration.
We also give a correlation for vibrational forces vs. hole size, which shows a 4.73 dB increase for each doubling of hole size.
